We have made the decision to host the BARS ECR & PGR ‘Romantic Futurities’ Conference online, please read for further updates:
Update 16/06: The organisers would like to thank everyone who came together to make the digital conference a success! We were pleased to be able to foster a sense of community and to encourage scholarship and research in these difficult and uncertain times. This website will remain up as an archive of the conference, but we claim no ownership of the presentations displayed here. Presenters and workshop leaders are welcome to contact us at any point should they wish to have their work removed from the website.
Update 11/06: The Programme for Romantic Futurities has now been released. You can view the programme here. Panels will open here from Friday June 12th. You must be registered to access the panels and live elements such as workshops and keynotes.
Update 01/06: Registration for Romantic Futurities is now live! Please click here to register. Registration is completely free and includes access to both days of the conference (Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th), all sessions, workshops, and keynote lectures. Registration will close on Thursday June 11th.
Update 19/05: Thanks to the positive response we have received from delegates, we are delighted to share that the BARS Romantic Futurities Conference will now be held online. The Conference will be held asynchronously on this website with synchronous workshops and discussion to take place on Microsoft Teams during the Conference’s originally scheduled dates of 12-13 June. More information will follow in due course.
Coronavirus Update 24/03: The UK government has announced a state of lockdown for the next three weeks with the potential to be extended, and in light of this we have made the difficult but practical decision to cancel the BARS ECR & PGR ‘Romantic Futurities’ Conference in its current form as a physical conference.
We are currently discussing digital alternatives, and we will be in touch with delegates about this soon.
Coronavirus Update 18/03: The Romantic Futurities Conference is still planned to run as scheduled. Current UK government advice is to avoid all inessential travel for an initial period of 30 days. UK borders are currently open to visitors, but we understand that international delegates’ travel plans may be affected by this ongoing global situation. Please continue to check this page for updates, and contact us with any concerns.
Coronavirus Update 10/03: The Romantic Futurities Conference is currently planned to run as scheduled. There are currently no restrictions on travel in the UK and the virus’s risk to the public has been classed as ‘moderate’.
